Yay, Friday is here!

The LOL household have had an interesting week with the arrival of my in-laws.  Let’s just say that I married into a family who know how to “let it go” from the rear end!

Anyway, I thought it would be fun to start a series called Family Favourites and share what we’ve been loving lately { the other alternative was FFS Friday where I share my rants of the week but I’d be writing all day so… } and today’s topic is – What are our current favourite drinks?

He Says…

pro live family probiotic drink

…Pro Live!  It tastes really good.

{ Mr LOL is a man of few words so that’s all I managed to squeeze from him! }

It’s basically a “family probiotic drink” which closely resembles – in looks and in taste – the Japanese drink, Yakult – which every other Asian kid drank back in our childhood years.

Probiotics have friendly bacteria and all that jazz to aid digestion blah blah, but Mr LOL wants to disclose that he has no trouble in that department 😛

It’s sour-sweet, milky, yoghurty and comes in a pack of 5x63ml bottles and you can bulk buy this at Costco – which is were we got ours from.  Tastes best chilled and if you’re a thirsty bear like Mr LOL, you will need 2 to 3 bottles of this.

She Says…

Tulsi Rose Paddington Tea

…Tulsi Rose Paddington Tea* served in a teacup and saucer; not in a mug because it somehow tastes better!

Sipping the hot tea slowly with my pinky in the air { I’m British, dontcha know? } and with a few spritzes of the accompanying Rustic Rose Room Spray in the air and I find that all the troubles of a stressful day will slowly melt away.

I’ve been slowly weaning myself off caffeine and carbonated drinks because I’ve been suffering from a bout of insomnia and drinking herbal tea has really helped.

Plus the room spray helps mask unpleasant smells which are constantly emitted from smelly windy bottoms, you know what I’m sayin?!!

{ Speaking of roses, someone I know with that namesake, actually stroked my tummy and asked if I was pregnant again last week!!  How rude!!  Yes, that would have made my FFS Friday post! }

And The Little One Says…

Cocobella Kids coconut water & juice

…Cocobella Kids coconut water & juice*!!  Yeahhhh!!

{ Okay, Bunty didn’t really say that because she’s not exactly articulate in the English speaking language just yet being 13.5 months old but you can clearly tell from her facial expressions!! }

Cocobella Kids is a lunch-box-friendly and healthy coconut water drink for kids made from 70% coconut water, 30% fruit juice and nothing else.

I mentioned previously that Bunty stopped breastfeeding and started drinking through a straw and these little 200ml cartons of Cocobella Kids have been really suitable for her to learn to hold and drink from.

It’s really refreshing and hydrating, especially in the recent hot summer days we’ve been getting in Melbourne.  Yep, it’s not just for kids, haha!  I’ve been slurping some of this too!

There are two yummy fruit flavours – Apple Berry Breeze and Tropical Island – and I think her favourite is Tropical Island because she actually climbed onto the couch for the first time ever to retrieve this drink!

Kids retails for $3.49 per 3-pack in Woolworths supermarkets nationally.

I know, I know!  We’re pretty lame as there aren’t any alcoholic drinks in there but I may be heading there because…you know…haha!  What’s your current favourite drink?  Whatever it is, I hope you get to drink a lot of it this weekend!

Disclosure :  Drinks marked with * were samples but all opinions are always our own.

  1. I’ve seen those Cocobella drinks in Woolies and have never bought them, thinking they might be deceptively unhealthy, but they look like a great alternative to strong, sugary juices. Might pick some up next time!
    I love water – always my favourite non alcoholic drink. As for alcoholic? Vodka, lime soda or a mojito 🙂
    I found a soda water that is lime flavoured so that’s nice – cuts down a step so I can have my drink faster haha.

    • I used to be a big fan of water…until I got married and then I started drinking fizzy drinks. And as soon as I had the baby, I drank more alcohol than ever before haha! I had beer when she was only 5 weeks old and I was breastfeeding…OOPS! 😛
